Technical requirements

This page contains all the hardware, software, environment, communication, and admin level permission requirements that must be met to ensure compatible and consistent exam delivery across all our delivery systems and modalities.

Live-in-the-Application (LITA) exams have individual program requirements that are above and beyond those of the exam delivery software; review both the delivery system and each individual program your CATC will be administering for detailed information. This page also lists which exams are available in which delivery system.

Note: Exams cannot be delivered during times of periodic maintenance. View the periodic maintenance schedule.

Active Exams App

In January 2026, we introduced the Active Exams Application. Similar to the interface for scheduling exams with Compass Cloud, this app has the ability to display all of our exams currently on Production. You may use the program category, language, or delivery system dropdowns in the app to quickly view which exams are available in which version, language, or system. System requirements/recommendations

The above exams can be delivered with the Compass for Windows, Compass for Mac, or Compass Cloud delivery systems*.

*Compass for Windows and Compass for Mac run natively/locally and require the Adobe software to be installed for LITA delivery. Compass Cloud also delivers Adobe LITA, but does so in a virtual environment via browser and does not require your workstation to have the Adobe software installed.
